Oaks of Righteousness

Today would have been Grandpa Worley's 82nd birthday. In keeping with Grandpa's wishes, we celebrated his birthday "on the day"! He was always a stickler for that! My father-in-law Mike planted an oak tree in his yard and we dedicated it today in memory of our beloved Truett. He chose an oak based on Isaiah 61:3, "They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor". An oak well fits an image of Grandpa, healthy, strong, and resistant to adversity that might come its way. It was a fitting tribute to the patriarch that God called home, in our opinion, way too soon. I guess heaven was filled with all the pie he could eat today!

Brandy- Thanks for the memorializing the day. Daddy was an amazing man. All of our lives are better because of his love of God that was passed to his family. Love you. Mike
