The Big 5!

Jace turned 5 on September 13, 2009. These past five years have flown by. Five is a great age. We finally feel that we've "arrived" with Jace. He is potty trained, can dress himself, is going to school, can fix his own breakfast (a bowl of cereal!), and is learning SO much. The list goes on and on. He is turning into such a sweet and caring little boy. The time is flying!!

We had a weekend-long celebration for his big day. Jace and I made cookies for his class on Friday. Of course, they had to be rockets, and OF COURSE, they had to be blue! Nana, Papaw, and Nanny arrived 5 minutes before I had to leave and so they surprised Jace by coming to the school, too.

Here is a pic of my cookies. The settings were wrong on the camera and I didn't know it, so that's why it's a little blurry!

Then, on Saturday, we had a big party for the birthday boy at Mimi & Pop's house. There were around 22 kids there. WOW! We had a blast. The hit was the jolly jump. It was so big! The kids were all ready for their naps by the time it was over. The party was from 10-12 and we had beautiful weather, but about 12:10 the bottom fell out of the sky and it started POURING down rain. Luckily, we were all home by then and everything was cleaned up! Thank you Lord for caring about the little things in life!

Here are some pics from the party:

Can you see him?

There are more pics on our smugmug page from the party. There are too many to post!

On his actual day we had birthday breakfast, church, then a family party later that afternoon with homemade chocolate ice cream. What a fun weekend we had!!!
